The Downtown Farmers Market is St. George's main weekly farmers market, held on Saturdays at Vernon Worthen Park, 300 South 400 East. The market says it was founded in 2007 by Nicki Pace and is now owned by Kat Puzey and Ashley Tiller. It brings together more than 60 vendors from Washington and Iron counties, with live music.

From Ancestor Square to Vernon Worthen Park

For years the market ran in Ancestor Square downtown. In August 2022 it moved to Vernon Worthen Park to gain more space and operate year-round. If you see older references to a farmers market in Ancestor Square, this is the same market at its current location.

Schedule

The market runs every Saturday from 8 a.m. to noon from May through October, and from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. from November through April. It is closed the last two weeks of December and all of January, and it skips Saturdays when large city events such as the St. George Marathon or Ironman use the area. What You'll Find

Vendors come from across Washington and Iron counties, so the mix follows the seasons. Southern Utah's long growing season means early spring greens, summer stone fruit and tomatoes, and fall squash, alongside baked goods, honey, plants and handmade goods. The specific lineup changes from week to week.

Summer mornings are the comfortable time to shop before temperatures climb past 100°F, which is why the warm-season market starts at 8 a.m. and wraps up at noon. In winter, the later 10 a.m. start lets the morning chill burn off. Vernon Worthen Park is a shaded, established downtown park a few blocks from St. George Boulevard, with room for vendors and shoppers to spread out.
