What is Cedar Fun Center in Cedar City?

Cedar Fun Center is a family entertainment center at 170 East Fiddlers Canyon Road in Cedar City, Utah. Under one roof it has $4 movies, a two-level laser tag arena, a laser maze, black-light mini golf and an arcade with more than 40 games. It also hosts birthday parties and is closed Sundays.

The building on Fiddlers Canyon Road was Fiddlers Fun Center for years. New owners renovated it and reopened it as Cedar Fun Center in 2021, and they have since added the laser maze and the indoor black-light golf course. The center describes itself as "Iron County's Entertainment Hotspot." SGWOM is not affiliated with it.

Movies

The movie theater is the part of Cedar Fun Center most people search for. Admission is $4, and every Friday at 8 p.m. there is a free showing; the week we checked, it was Halloweentown. New releases play here too: the week we checked, the schedule had a new Spider-Man film and a Paw Patrol movie. On weekdays the shows start in the late afternoon or evening; Friday and Saturday add matinees. Check the current showtimes before you go, since the list changes weekly.

Concessions are priced separately. Popcorn is $5, $7 or $8 by size, drinks run $3 to $6, and slushies are $5 or $5.50. The combos are the better deal: the Kids Combo (kids drink, kids popcorn and an Airhead) is $6.25, the Movie Star (medium drink and popcorn) is $12, and the Date Night (two large drinks and a large popcorn with a refill) is $18.

Laser tag

The laser tag arena has two levels and holds up to 24 players at a time. Games get cheaper the more you play: $7 for the first, $6 for the second, $5 for the third and $4 for the fourth. Every laser tag player needs a signed waiver.

Laser maze

In the laser maze you either dodge the beams or try to break as many as you can, alone or with a partner, with several game modes and difficulty levels. The center says it suits players of all ages. It does not list a single-game price online, so ask at the counter; unlimited laser maze is part of birthday packages 2, 3 and 4.

Black-light mini golf

The indoor mini golf course glows under black light and has an "Around the World" theme: each hole stands for a different place, plus one hole the center calls out of this world. A round costs $8 per golfer, or $5 for kids 5 and under. Because it is indoors, it works on a hot afternoon or a snowy Cedar City evening.

Arcade

The arcade has more than 40 games, according to the home page, and you play for tickets you can trade at the prize counter for toys, candy and electronics. The deals page lists load bonuses: put $25 on and get $5 extra, $50 gets $15, $75 gets $20 and $100 gets $40. No waiver is needed for the arcade.

How much are movies at Cedar Fun Center?

Movie admission at Cedar Fun Center is $4, and the theater shows a free movie every Friday at 8 p.m. Showtimes change every week and are posted on the center’s Movie Showtimes page. Snacks are extra: popcorn runs $5 to $8, and the Date Night combo of two large drinks and a large popcorn is $18.

What are the hours at Cedar Fun Center?

The center’s home page lists Monday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., Friday from noon to 11 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. It is closed on Sundays. Its waiver page still shows other hours, opening at 4 p.m. Monday through Thursday, so call (435) 263-0200 before a weekday afternoon visit.

The info and waiver page lists Monday through Thursday from 4 to 9 p.m. and Friday and Saturday until midnight. We show the home page hours above because that page was updated more recently, but call before you drive over at an odd hour. Movie showtimes follow their own schedule.

Is Cedar Fun Center good for toddlers?

Partly. Movies and the arcade need no waiver, mini golf costs only $5 for kids 5 and under, and the center calls its laser maze fun for players of all ages. It does not publish a minimum age or height for laser tag, so call ahead before promising a preschooler a game in the two-level arena.

For the smallest kids, the arcade, a short movie and a round of glow-in-the-dark golf with a parent are the safest bets. Older kids and teens get the most out of the laser tag arena and the laser maze.

Who Cedar Fun Center is best for

Rough budgets below use only the prices the center publishes, before tax and snacks unless noted.

  • Date night: two $4 movie tickets and the $18 Date Night combo come to $26. Add a round of black-light mini golf for two ($16) before the show and the whole evening is $42.
  • Families with young kids: a round of mini golf for two adults and two kids 5 and under is $26, and a $4 movie each afterward adds $16. Friday's free 8 p.m. movie makes the cheapest night out in town.
  • Teens and groups of friends: three games of laser tag cost $18 per player at the listed prices ($7, $6 and $5). With up to 24 players in the arena, a youth group or team can play together.
  • Rainy, snowy or hot days: everything is indoors, which helps in a town at about 5,800 feet where winter evenings get cold.

Sample afternoon

Start with a round of black-light mini golf, play two games of laser tag ($13 per player), then spend some arcade credit and finish with an evening movie. For a family of four with older kids, the golf and laser tag alone come to $84 at listed prices, plus whatever you put on the arcade.

Birthday parties and private events

Cedar Fun Center sells four birthday packages, each priced for 10 guests and each with a party coach and bottomless soda. Packages 1 to 3 have online booking links on the parties page; for Package 4, call (435) 263-0200.

Do I need to book ahead at Cedar Fun Center?

Not for a regular visit: the website lists no online tickets or reservations for movies, laser tag, mini golf or the arcade. Book ahead for birthday parties, through the online links for packages 1 to 3 or by phone for package 4, and email events@cedarfuncenter.com for other group or private events, including theater room rentals.
